the story

For almost 16 years, I have been serving up desserts and ideas, guided by one simple philosophy: live to eat, not eat to live.

Because dessert has never been just a sweet treat. It is memory, ritual, celebration, and comfort. A mother watching her child blow out another candle. Fifty years of marriage around a table. The first slice of the rest of your lives together. A leftover sliver of cake with coffee and a conversation you’ll never forget.

My story began making cakes for my children. Soon, other mothers were asking me to create cakes for theirs. What started as something personal became a craft, an obsession, and eventually, an art form.

I fell in love with the science of baking without ever losing the romance of it. Cardamom filling the spaces between cinnamon and ginger. Buttercream churning in the mixer. The precision of a perfectly tiered cake. Baking has always felt ritualistic to me.

And then comes the art. Flavor becomes a medium. Desserts become sculptures, bringing my clients’ ideas to life. Much of that happens in the twilight hours of the morning, when the kitchen has a rhythm all its own. I believe a little of that magic remains in every finished piece.

Over the years, this community and this little sandbar I call home have helped me polish, challenge, and elevate my craft. I have salt in my hair, sand on my skin, and I’ve been baptized in more than a few local kitchens, typically through fire. Each has shaped me as a woman, mother, artist, and pastry chef.

Nearly 16 years later, I’m still serving up desserts and ideas, creating something meant to be tasted, celebrated, and remembered.
